You read about them in business magazines and blogs. You may watch them on popular TV shows about business, but do you really know the traits that unite successful entrepreneurs?
How do you define success? Is it income, assets, leadership, reputation, connections or combination of all of them? Success is defined differently by everyone. Your idea of success may not be someone else’s idea of success and visa-versa. Here are some universally recognized traits of a successful entrepreneur:
1. Heartfelt passion. Entrepreneurs hit many roadblocks and challenges in the course of the average day. These can lead to disaster, but they can also mean success. Unwavering passion is an absolute requirement otherwise businesses would fail at the first hurdle. Luckily, most business owners are driven by passion, so this quality is usually always in abundance.
2. Problem solving. Not everyone is problem solver. Successful entrepreneurs have an answer for every challenge, and if they don’t, they will find someone who does. Businesses thrive when they are led by people who avert disaster and turn adverse situations to their advantage.
3. Ahead of the pack. Entrepreneurs that succeed are always several steps ahead of the competition. They know that if they slow down or fail to keep up with new industry innovations, their competitors are waiting to pounce and steal their customers. A savvy business owner keeps their enemies scratching their heads by constantly evolving, improving and introducing new products and services to the market.
