5 Ways to Get the Most From Your Members

One of the aspects of our work here at EBS that we love most is Association Management. You might say we specialize in getting the most from your members with a selection of services that provide everything from a tiny bit to total association management for businesses both local and national. For more details on the specifics of what we can do for you, please take a moment to review our Association Management page on the Exceptional Business Solutions website. For you today, we’re sharing a few of our secrets with five ways to get the most from your members… starting today!

1. Keep your website well maintained! Your existing members will leave you and you’ll find yourself with no new subscribers if your website looks unprofessional or out of date. Take good care of your online presence and your website will take good care of you!

2. Meet with your members, face to face. Whether you want to hold a monthly meeting or an annual conference, you should provide your members the opportunity to meet you and the rest of your crew face to face. This strengthens your presence in your community and spreads the word about your organization further. Also, it gives you a chance to make new connections with people who might just bring about the next big step for your business!

3. Support your board! Being part of a Board of Directors can be a trying experience. From annual reports to financial analysis to tedious into-the-night meetings, your board members deserve to be treated well and supported with additional staff and resources when necessary.

4. Be consistent. Your e-newsletter should be distributed consistently each week or month so that your subscribers know what to expect. In addition, your blog should be updated at least monthly to ensure you appear current to prospective members and still engaged to existing followers. Create a calendar for your association management tasks and stick to it!

5. Say thank you. Often. Your members are your loyal subjects who (fingers crossed) speak highly of you and your brand. Say thank to you to them with a giveaway or freebie, or even an e-card sent to the whole mailing list.

If you’ve got the time and the tools, get started right away to grow your business through your members. As always, if you need a hand, just let us know. It’s what we’re here for!
